When we took this snapshot, there were 1,554 homes listed for sale in our local market.
During the first month of 2012, 189 listings failed to sell.
Just to confuse things, listings are not necessarily the same thing as 'homes'; what this number really refers to is 'attempts to sell' a house. A given house might not sell with one agent, but might sell during a later attempt by another (or even the same) agent.
Now, if we only look at what happened with homes that were listed in 2012, the results show that only 11.3% of the 372 homes listed for sale have sold so far.
